Oh my, everyone is fortunate to have recent memories of Marshall Crenshaw. My memory of him comes from the late eighties when he played at Tipitina's in New Orleans. I dragged my poor younger brother Keith to the night concert. What a memorable night, what a magical night! He played all our favorites. I worked myself to the front of the stage and danced through the night. I can still remember that pretty girl to my right who was mesmerized by Marshall's playing and singing, swaying to his music. Fans of all ages were there. Many of them threw wads of paper, with their favorite song requests written on them. Marshall would randomly pick up a ball of paper, open it, and start playing the request. It's time for him to return to New Orleans. He's a special minstrel.

New Orleans, Louisiana USA - Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at 02:29:19 (EST)Saw Marshall Crenshaw at Maxwell's in Hoboken last night (12/4) - my husband surprised me for my birthday. What a great surprise. I've always wanted to see him perform. It was a very small intimate room. He played some great stuff and did not disappoint anyone there.

Staten Island, NY USA - Friday, August 27, 2004 at 17:53:41 (EDT)Many favorite concerts with Crenshaw - Sinatra Park in Hoboken NJ with the NY Skyline behind Marshall and also the Hoboken NJ festival when with a full band Marshall did "Journey to the Center of Your Mind"! He never disappoints whether alone or with a band. Stone Pony when they recorded him "live" for the CD "I've suffered for my Art..." was also a memorable concert. He is special and my only regret is not more music lovers know his music.
